The school chess club has been running now for about 4 weeks on a Monday Lunchtime. 16 children from years 4, 5 and 6 have signed up to come along and try their skills against each other.

After a couple of weeks practice, the children were split into two groups and are now taking part in a ‘round-robin’ tournament. We are also planning a knock-out competition after Christmas.

This is fun and it makes you use your brain. I now know how the rook moves.

This is a good club and it is great playing chess with my friends.
