If you happened to be driving down Baker Street on Friday 21st October, you would have noticed the cow coloured Dairy Bus parked outside of the School. The Dairy Bus travels across the country educating young people about the milk process, from farm to shop. Children from all classes were welcomed aboard, where they were told about the milk processes involved and given time to participate in various fun activities including the opportunity to milk Daisy the Cow. The children were also given information booklets and a wrist band to take home to show Mums, Dads and Carers. It was a wonderful experience that was enjoyed by both staff and children alike.
It was brilliant on the bus. There was a big cow and we all milked her. They can produce up to 20 litres of milk each day.
I learnt that cows are very clever and have 4 stomachs and they stand up and lie down about 14 times a day.
