Remote Learning - Google Classroom
We know it is vital for your child to stay connected and keeping motivation high during this lockdown will become challenging over time. We are unsure exactly when the lockdown will ease as there is speculation it may continue beyond half term. This is why we are changing our provision now. Our children deserve the best possible education either in school or at home.
Teachers will use Google Classroom for pupils who are self-isolating and remain well.
Following the questionnaire responses and listening to your requests for some live elements to our home learning, we have made the decision to switch our provision to Google Classroom. Every child in the school now has a brand new email address to access this - the old log ins will not work. Step-by-step parent instructions on how to access and use Google Classroom will be sent following this message.
Daily live meetings:
Google classroom is where teachers will set work, send messages and post links to live meetings within the class 'stream' (a bit like a class Facebook page). There will be a range of 'assignments' posted and the children’s work, photos and videos can be uploaded/completed online for the teacher to view.
Tasks (assignments) for the children to complete will be posted by their class teacher. If you miss any, do not worry as they remain in the classroom. A weekly timetable will be posted in the classroom on Monday so that you are aware of what is coming up over the week.
Please regularly discuss online safety with your children. Our Online Safety page has lots of advice.
If you have any problems with accessing or using Google Classroom, then please contact your child’s class teacher first via ClassDojo.
In consultation with our SENCo, Miss Bryant, Some children with additional needs will continue to receive paper packs of work. More details will follow regarding what is expected daily and weekly.
