Strike Action for next Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th March

The National Education Union (NEU) remains in a formal trade dispute with the Secretary of State for Education because she has failed to give the undertaking sought by the NEU to make available additional and sufficient funds to allow employers to pay a fully funded increase in teachers’ pay at a rate greater than inflation (as measured by September 2022 RPI). Further to my letter of 25th January, the NEU has confirmed further strike action over pay for its teacher members on 15th and 16th  March 2023. As promised, I have repeated my risk assessment to judge how to respond to this strike day.

As different teachers in differing unions are timetabled on Wednesdays and Thursdays, the school will remain partially open. School will be closed to the following year groups:

Closed classes Wednesday 15th March Year 1 & Year 2

Closed classes Thursday 16th March Year 1

Where families are being supported by social care, places for vulnerable children are available. In addition, where pupils are in receipt of free school meals, a packed lunch will be available to collect on the morning of 15th and 16th March, if families have contacted the school office in advance.  Please email or telephone make arrangements, on 01934 620738 or office@christchurchprimaryschool.org
