Remote Learning Provision
Our Approach to Remote Learning
If a child is unable to attend school but is well enough to learn from home, we will provide high‑quality remote education that helps them continue their learning as smoothly as possible. We aim to keep children connected, supported, and engaged, while making things manageable for families.
When Remote Learning Will Be Provided
Remote learning will be offered when:
-
A child is unable to attend school due to short‑term circumstances (e.g., illness that does not prevent learning, isolation, or other authorised absence).
-
A class, group, or year group is unable to attend school.
-
The school is partially or fully closed.
Remote learning is not expected for children who are too unwell to learn.
What Remote Learning Looks Like
We provide a mix of:
-
Daily learning tasks in English, maths, and foundation subjects
-
Recorded or written explanations to support understanding
-
Links to high‑quality online resources
-
Opportunities for feedback from teachers
Our aim is to mirror, as closely as possible, the learning taking place in school.
How Work Will Be Set
Work will be shared through:
-
Google Classroom and/or ClassDojo
-
Daily posts outlining tasks and resources
-
Clear instructions for pupils and parents
Where needed, printed packs can be provided.
How We Support Children With SEND
We ensure that:
-
Tasks are adapted where appropriate
-
Additional resources or scaffolds are provided
-
Staff maintain communication with families to support individual needs
If your child has an EHCP or receives additional support in school, we will work with you to ensure remote learning is accessible and appropriate.
How We Provide Feedback
Teachers will:
-
Review submitted work
-
Give feedback through the online platform or via email
-
Offer guidance to help children improve and stay motivated
Feedback may be written, audio, or through whole‑class updates.
Expectations for Pupils
We encourage children to:
-
Complete the tasks set each day
-
Ask for help if they are unsure
-
Share their work with their teacher through the platform or by uploading photos
We understand that every home situation is different, and we aim to be flexible and supportive.
How Parents and Carers Can Help
You can support your child by:
-
Establishing a simple daily routine
-
Providing a quiet space for learning where possible
