Christ Church CE Primary School

'Let your light shine' Matthew 5:16

New to Reception

Welcome to EYFS 2023!

We are all very excited to meet you and start your schooling adventure with you and your child!

We know that when it comes time for your little one to start school, it can be filled with mixed emotions: Where has the time gone? How can they be starting school already? You are trusting us to help guide your child over the next 7 years: a huge responsibility that we do not take lightly. Please be assured that, as a team, we will do all that we can to ensure that your child's experience of primary school is a happy, safe and exciting one.

EYFS New Starter Events and Important Dates

We want you and your child feel part of our school from today, not just from September.

With this in mind, we have a range of events and activities planned to help you and your child become familiar with the school, our staff and the other families who are joining Christ Church.

Tuesday 13th June - New Parents Meeting

From 4:30pm, our Y6 students will be providing a tour of the EYFS area and staff will be around to answer questions and help settle nerves.

At 5pm, a meeting will be held in our school hall with members of our EYFS team and Senior Leadership Team.

Thursday 29th June - Stay and Play

Group A -9:15 - 10:15am

Group B - 10:45 - 11:45am

Your child, alongside a parent/carer, are invited into the classroom to explore the environment and meet all the EYFS staff.

Tuesday 11th July - Teddy Bear Picnic

At 2pm, you and your child are invited to a Teddy Bear's Picnic along with our current EYFS cohort. This will be a lovely opportunity to visit the environment again, ask questions and start building friendships.

What will September 2023 look like?

A copy of the timetable will be shared with you at the parents meeting. The children will attend part time to start to allow for staff to build a relationship, to learn about your child and for your child to establish the school routine before being a full class.
